Bulletrain, Lizzy Insane, Crazy Lixx

Friday night brought yet another concert. This time in Helsingborg starring Bulletrain-Lizzy Insane and Crazy Lixx. Unfortunately they didn't keep the time schedule (something that hardly ever occurs in Sweden), so we missed out on the local band Bulletrain that was the first band on stage.

Next up was Lizzy Insane from Lund who proved to be a perfect warm up band for the main event Crazy Lixx, due to a similar style of music. They played for about half an hour and gave the audience a good show. Especially their lead singer was very energetic and ended up in the audience on the floor from where he continued singing. Cool to see the drive and confidence that live among even the upcoming swedish bands. And I won't be surprised if I haven't heard the last from Lizzy Insane, who doesn't have a full album out yet.

Then it was time for Crazy Lixx, who I haven't seen since they supported Hardcore Superstar in 2007. I have to start out by saying that they've grown since then ! Even though they were a great live band when I saw them last, they've now reached level of a class act and gave a show I won't soon forget !

The awesome thing about Crazy Lixx is that once you've listened to their songs just a few times they stick with you and almost all of them have a chorus that's easy to sing along with. That combined with the ability to get the crowd going and make them feel like a big part of the show, makes them a perfect live band.

Crazy Lixx played almost all the songs from their debut album (Loud Minority) that scored a 8/10 on sleazemetal.dk and everything sounded really well. As a bonus they started "Want It" with an intro where they were playing bits from some of the Rock Giants Quite Riot and Twisted Sister's classic hits. The crowd loved it and responded by singing very loud and cheering the band along.

I have to admit that I was blown away by how great Crazy Lixx performed and I think that "Rock the Night" have done really well booking this amazing band to play in Kolding (DK) 10th of april. New guitarist Andy Dawson played his ass off and Lixx are certainly not suffering after the departure of Vic Zino (who was in the audience this night), that recently switched to Hardcore Superstar. Dawson played pretty much flawless during the show and had a well suited appearance on stage.

After the show I was personally left with the thought that I wouldn't mind if it started over again right then and there. And should I rate the show I'd give it 9/10.... A really awesome concert, and I can hardly wait to see them in concert again already on the 10th and 11th of april when they come to Denmark.
